Marta and Enrico’s country chic wedding has, in reality, been a extended musical feast. Enrico is a musician, Marta a singer, and together with their musician friends and family members turned this event into a real party!
We start working the day before, when we gather at the stables of Villa Papafava to arrange some of the wedding décor. The event will be unmistakably country chic! I take the opportunity to snap a few photos as the festive atmosphere, which I expect to reign the next day, has already flooded the air.
The next morning, on the wedding day, the couple’s home bustles with friends and music. So much so that the soon to be newlyweds get ready together, almost dancing. Marta’s sister takes care of the bride’s make-up. As for the wedding gown, made at the atelier Vagamè in Spoleto , it surprises everyone by being convertible and changes depending on Marta’s needs.
When the couple is ready, they arrive together at the adjacent church by Jeep. The entrance is epic. Once at the altar Enrico grabs his bass guitar and, with his friends, he plays the first song. But it doesn’t stop here, thanks to the couple’s friends, the whole ceremony becomes a truly joyful music fest. When Marta’s sister and her father grab the microphone for a speech though, the tone is changed and even I feel a tear lining my cheek.
The customary throwing of the rice happens as the same time as a celebratory blowing of soap bubbles… an in-joke for the bride, whose music band she created with her sisters is called “Bolla Sisters” (literally, “Bubble sisters”). It’s now time for the reception at Villa Papafava! The atmosphere resembles a cheerful and informal dinner among friends. The charming natural surroundings and the impressive décor turn into an excellent background to the delicious food, beer and draft prosecco. Plus… the music! For this unique country chic wedding, the couple set up a true open-air concert!
Thank you, guys. It was a wonderful adventure!
