At some weddings, magic is in the air. It may be because the event had to be postponed for the pandemic, or it may be that Love always finds a way, but regardless, Marta & Luca’s wedding was a romantic eulogy to tenderness and joy.
My day as a wedding photographer in Tuscany has just begun, though I know already that today will be a memorable one (spoiler: it was!)
Wedding at Abbazia di Spineto, in Sarteano, on the border with Val d’Orcia is the venue chosen by the couple. The abbey, with its almost one thousand years of history, is imbued with an ever-inspiring pastoral peace that merges beautifully into the surrounding idyllic countryside.
Marta and Luca are staying here on the estate. While getting ready, assisted by the skilled make-up artist Giulia Papke, the bride-to-be enjoys her mum and bridesmaids’ company. Silence and peace surround them. From the groom’s room instead, laughs and chatter come through as the witnesses and the bride’s father are animating the atmosphere!
Time for one last toast before dressing up and leaving! It’s almost time. Marta is glowing in her gown, her joy and thrill complete the outfit as if pearls glittering under the sunshine.
At the altar in the Santissima Trinità church, within the abbey, Luca looks at his bride walking down the aisle. He is ready, ready to tie the sweetest of the knots, the forever “I do” knot.
Outside, the sunset light is waiting to cloak the newlyweds and the gleeful guests with its warmth.
In the garden, the couple exchanges vows while I take the opportunity to snap one of the most intimate and sweetest photos wedding at Abbazia di Spineto taken so far. It is a truly delightful moment.
Between speeches, dinner is served. Afterwards it’s time for some dancing and fun! Finally, the romantic cutting of the cake in the cloister and a jubilation of cheerful dancing close up the night.
I leave Val d’Orcia and the Abbazia di Spineto fully aware of my privilege; to be a photographer who narrates the finest and purest of the matters: Love.
Thank you, guys, for this emotional day. I will never forget it.

touches the hand of a woman,
they both touch the heart of eternity.
